Speaker 1:Welcome to Great Day Radio, where we play great music and cool commentary For this upcoming discussion. We will be discussing speed dating and what is it all about, and how to get connected. We will also speak to faith-based dating expert, anna Maria Bosquez. This is your host, dj Tyler, and it gives me a pleasure to be here with you.
Speaker 3:This discussion is brought to you by Thousand Questions for Couples by Michael Webb. One of the biggest reasons marriages end in divorce is because couples fail to ask the big questions before they walk down the aisle. If couples simply spent some time asking each other the questions that really matter, they'd greatly increase their chances of staying together. The great thing about a question book is that it makes it easier to ask those difficult questions and encourages an environment to address them. But is Michael Webb's 1,000 Questions for Couples the right book for this? In short, yes, most question books beat around the bush, never really providing the important questions, and others simply don't have enough questions. On the other hand, webb has put together the most comprehensive collection of questions, covering every single topic you'd ever want to know about before tying the knot. It includes tough subjects like money, children and child rearing, career, past and present relationships, religion, morals, convictions and beliefs, personality and even sex.
Speaker 3:However, don't get me wrong. While there are many serious and tough topics to discuss, there are also many lighter yet just as important topics, including the car and driving, vacations, food and well-being, pets and your favorite things. That's one thing I really loved about this book. It covered every conceivable topic, from the super serious to the light-hearted and fun, making it easy for couples to start with easy questions and build their way up to important ones. Also, a great bonus is having the ability to deliver three to five of the questions to my email each day, making everything automatic. I just go about my day and get new questions to ask my loved one without having to really think about it.
Speaker 3:In all, there's nothing really negative I can say about this book. It delivers exactly what it says and covers every question you would ever want to ask your loved one. I highly recommend this book for everyone, not just couples who are thinking of getting married, but also couples who just want to feel closer together, or people dating who just want more things to talk about. For all the details, click on the link in the description of this podcast. We have more amazing discussions and awesome music coming up next. Thank you for tuning in to Great Day Radio, your mix of today's and yesterday's hits.
Speaker 1:Welcome back. This is DJ Tyler, and on this discussion we will discuss speed dating, a quick way to expand your romantic horizons, and what it is all about. We will also be talking to subject matter experts and couples to share their thoughts and perspectives. So let's dive on into it. In today's fast-paced society, where every minute of our day is scheduled and we always seem to be on the go, finding love can often fall by the wayside. Enter speed dating, a high efficiency dating system designed for singles who want to spice up their love life but don't have the time for the long-drawn-out courtship process. So the concept of speed dating. Historically, it was created by a Los Angeles rabbi in the late 90s to help Jewish singles meet new people and find potential partners.
Speaker 1:Speed dating has surged in popularity and expanded beyond the Jewish community. It's a structured way for busy adults to meet multiple potential partners in a short amount of time. Here's how it works Participants usually sign up in advance for an event with organizers such as Faith-Based Denver's Catholic Speed Dating, who are aiming to balance the number of men and women to ensure a good mix. On the day of the event, participants are paired up and given a set time, typically around 5 to 20 minutes to talk and get to know each other before a bell rings signaling it's time to move on to the next person. We will be talking to Ana Maria Bosquez, with Denver's Catholic Speed Dating LLC, later in this discussion, so stay locked in. So what are the pros of speed dating? One of the key benefits of speed dating is that it requires an investment of mere minutes to potentially spark a new romance, which fits perfectly into the packed schedules of modern adults. Furthermore, because every participant is there with the same goal to meet potential dates, the environment is pressure-free and fun.

The book offer triggers for sparking up great conversations. So, whether you are dating or in a relationship already, michael's book 1,000 Questions for Couples will help guide you into many great conversation. The link will be in the description of this podcast. So let's continue our discussion.
Speaker 1:So is speed dating developing a new social standard? Speed dating has established itself as a staple of the modern dating scene. Its popularity has even influenced the way we think about dating, setting a new social standard for quick face-to-face encounters as an acceptable means of finding a partner. Means of finding a partner, this method sparks a gamified version of matchmaking where you're not stuck overanalyzing a single interaction, but are instead given the chance to meet multiple people in one evening, making for a more dynamic and potentially less awkward experience than a blind date or the back-and-forth of online messaging. So what are the cons to consider?
Speaker 1:Speed dating is not without its drawbacks, though. The time constraints mean that first impressions are even more important and there's not enough time to delve into deep conversation. For some, this format can feel superficial, leading them to write off potential matches too quickly, based on initial reactions rather than a deeper understanding of the person, on initial reactions rather than a deeper understanding of the person. Moreover, the rapid succession of dates can be overwhelming and keeping track of the individuals met becomes difficult. Afterwards, it may be challenging to remember who said what or even discern where the true connections were made.
Speaker 1:How can finding success in speed dating work? To truly be successful at speed dating, it helps to approach the event with a clear mind, an open heart and without a laundry list of expectations. Staying present, engaged and authentic during these fleeting encounters can lead to much more meaningful connections. Yes, it's about the spark, but it's also about giving potential matches a fair chance. But it's also about giving potential matches a fair chance. Coming up after these messages, we will be talking to subject matter expert and Denver native, anna Maria Bosquez, who runs Denver Catholic Speed Dating. Thank you for tuning into GreatDayRadiocom, your party mix online radio station.

Speaker 1:Welcome to GreatDayRadiocom. I am your host, DJ Tyler. I am here with the president of Denver Catholic Speed Dating, Anna Maria Bosquez. Thank you for your time to talk to our audience about the dating scene and how you got started in the industry.
Speaker 2:Thank you, DJ Tyler, for having me on your show. I would also like to thank DJ Mikey D for making this happen. I happened to meet him at an event we hosted. Such a great guy. I would like to send prayers to him as he is going through some health challenges.
Speaker 1:You are so welcome. Dj Mikey D will surely return with much excitement as he heals. We will continue to share prayers, for sure. So, anna, tell our audience something about you. Where do you call home and what inspired you to get involved with the dating connection industry?
Speaker 2:Sure, and thank you for the questions. I am a Denver native. I have 15 years of experience as a reporter for daily newspapers throughout Colorado and California. I specialized in general assignments, breaking news, religious news, business society columns, as well as arts and entertainment events. I come from a Spanish colonial family. My parents were natives and relatives of Spanish settlers of Trinidad, colorado, where my father also graduated then Holy Trinity High Parochial School, where he was an altar boy at Holy Trinity Parish through the 1940s. He is a descendant of Spanish colonial pioneers that started the town of Trinidad, colorado, the Bacchic Ancestry. I am a parishioner at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Denver. I also sang with the choir there in the nationally televised Archbishop Installation Choir for Archbishop Samuel J Aquila's installation on July 18, 2012, and have been a member of its alto section since November 2011.
Speaker 1:Wow, that is amazing. I can tell you have a strong Catholic foundation and an amazing history. I have never encountered someone whose family is responsible for a town like Trinidad. Colorado's evolution. How did you get started in the dating industry?
Speaker 2:Thank you. Yes, I am a very devoted Catholic and have a passion with connecting couples with healthy, loving relationships. That is my inspiration for sure. I used to run the Last Supper Club. It was an unofficial after-church dinner club with a list of more than 500 people at Denver's Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception since 2006. Last Supper Club was the club from which Denver Catholics Beat Dating LLC sprang from. With Last Supper Club, I can say I and the wonderful volunteers have coupled several marriages. It really was amazing and, as I mentioned, inspiring. I have also planned events for other adult faith formation groups at Denver's Cathedral, coordinating whitewater rafting trips throughout the state and happy hours throughout the city.
Speaker 1:That's awesome, anna. You had mentioned offline that you have a background in journalism. When did you get started with that career and how did that contribute to your success of getting into the speed dating business?
Speaker 2:Yes, I have a background in journalism and business. I achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, both from Metropolitan State University of Denver. My journalism career began when the Rocky Mountain News put me on a full scholarship when I was 19 years old. For my passion for writing, it also gave me paid internships during the summers in college, during which I authored more than 100 articles for the Denver Daily. I am proud to say that I was the first graduate of that scholarship program Very exciting.
Speaker 1:Exciting indeed. Are you still involved in journalism for any newspaper outlets and any awards you would like to brag about?
Speaker 2:Yes, I have. I have won three professional writing awards statewide in Mountain Region White in sports reporting, education reporting and entertainment column writing. I am currently writing for our Sunday visitor, colorado Catholic Herald, national Catholic Reporter and National Catholic Register. In the Catholic Press my work has been published by Zenitorg International Catholic News Agency, ewtncom Catholic News Agency, catholic News Service and the Denver Catholic Register. From time to time I am a restaurant critic. I also work to ensure the atmosphere is just right for each event I plan for my Catholic speed dating business.
Speaker 1:Wow, you have a lot of exciting things going on. Thank you for taking the time to share information about you and Denver Catholic speed dating work you do. As we are on the subject of discussing dating, do you have any advice for those looking to get into finding their true love through speed dating?
Speaker 2:insight, but to talk about my passion for connecting people, my passion for my craft and journalism. Um advice on speed dating I think I mentioned it previously go into dating with an open mind. Don't come into a dating situation to be harsh or judgmental, as it will limit your possibilities to meet an amazing person. Be mindful that 5 or even 20 minutes gives you a small glimpse of someone's personality.
